IMRAN KHAN vs. The System: Islamabad Erupts in Chaos
A Call for Justice
The people of Pakistan, particularly supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), are exercising their constitutional rights. Peaceful protests are a fundamental right of every citizen in any democratic state. Yet, the current government seems unwilling to respect this right. Supporters of PTI have assured the authorities of their intent to demonstrate peacefully, demanding the release of their leader, Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan. So, where does the problem lie? Why is this peaceful exercise being met with force?
Improper use of money:
As we all know the economic situation in Pakistan is on the brink of default but our government is spending a huge amount of money on stopping the protesters of PTI containers around Rs. 100 billion are spent on containers to only stop the Pakistani citizens from protesting.
A Violent Response
Despite peaceful intentions, the protestors heading to D-Chowk in Islamabad faced severe resistance. The government imposed Section 144, banning gatherings, and shockingly ordered a “shoot-at-sight” response. This harsh action led to tragic consequences: A Large number of protestors lost their lives, and many injured are now struggling to survive. Families of the deceased do not even find the dead bodies of their loved ones .bodies—a deeply inhumane act. Who will take responsibility for this bloodshed? Why are peaceful citizens treated as terrorists in their own country?
A Nation in Crisis
While we condemn the atrocities happening in Gaza, we must also reflect on the state of our own nation. Have we started mirroring the same aggressive behavior we denounce elsewhere? The protesters’ sole demand is Imran Khan’s release. If he is guilty of wrongdoing, then present the evidence. However, until now, no such proof has been provided, reinforcing the belief in his innocence.
A Plea for Accountability
This is not just about Imran Khan. It is about the lives lost and the suffering of their families. The tragic deaths of innocent citizens demand accountability. How can a government allow its security forces to harm its own people? This is not the Pakistan envisioned by our forefathers. Are we heading toward a future where we become as helpless as Gaza?
We appeal to those in power:
listen to the cries of your people. Do not let Pakistan spiral into chaos. Address this crisis with wisdom, humanity, and justice.
Note:
Now the judiciary has to decide if Imran is innocent or........... I don't know how powerful the judiciary was after the recent abandonments .
